Seminar on Innovation in Accounting & Orientation Program- Fall-2024

The event successfully served as both an orientation and a workshop, introducing students and their guardians to the department, its mission, faculty, and upcoming opportunities. The workshop covered modern accounting tools and methods through interactive sessions that engaged both students and faculty. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the department's offerings and the importance of innovation in accounting, setting a strong foundation for their academic journey through insightful discussions and expert guidance.

Daffodil International University (DIU) celebrated its 23rd Founding Anniversary on January 25, 2025, with a day-long gala event. The celebration included a colorful rally, a discussion, the formation of a human logo, games, sports, and a dance performance based on the university's theme song. The event, held at the university campus in Birulia, Savar, Dhaka, saw participation from 22,000 students, teachers, and officials. The university's Founder & Chairman, Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, emphasized the importance of skill-based education during the event.

The workshop covered modern accounting tools and methods through interactive sessions that engaged both students and faculty. Participants gained a comprehensive understanding of the department's offerings and the importance of innovation in accounting, setting a strong foundation for their academic journey through insightful discussions and expert guidance.

The primary objective of the industrial visit was to bridge the gap between academic learning and real-world applications by exposing students to the practical workings of industries. The visit:

1. Provided students with hands-on experience in accounting and financial operations within a professional environment.
2. Helped students understand industry standards, practices, and emerging trends in accounting and business.
3. Inspired students to connect theoretical knowledge with practical applications.
4. Built connections with industry professionals, fostering future career opportunities.

The Department of Accounting, Daffodil International University, recently hosted a transformative seminar in collaboration with ACCA Bangladesh. This insightful event provided students with an opportunity to explore career pathways and gain a deeper understanding of professional accounting qualifications.

The event began with a welcome speech by Professor Dr. Mohammad Rokibul Kabir, Head of the Department of Accounting, followed by remarks from Mr. Anhar Sharif, Head of the Department of Finance and Banking.

Mrs. Prawma Tapashi Khan, the Country Manager of ACCA Bangladesh, shared her inspiring journey to becoming an ACCA-qualified professional, offering valuable guidance to students on their own career paths.
Mr. Mohammad Tanvir Hossain discussed the upcoming IFRS 18 and its potential impact on the presentation of financial statements.

Mr. Shah Waliul Manzoor highlighted the fruitful collaboration between ACCA and DIU, further emphasizing the numerous pathways available to students pursuing professional accounting qualifications.

The session included a vibrant Q&A round that saw active student participation, with exciting gifts given to attendees.
A key highlight was the announcement that students will receive 4 course exemptions from ACCA, marking a significant step towards global professional excellence, with possible waivers of up to eight courses.

The seminar concluded with closing remarks from Professor Dr. Masum Iqbal, Dean of the Faculty of Business and Entrepreneurship, who expressed gratitude to the guests from ACCA and appreciated the enthusiastic participation of the students, hoping for a fruitful outcome from the event.
This seminar was a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to fostering global professional excellence in accounting.
