The Department of Information Technology & Management (ITM), Daffodil International University, successfully organized the “From Problem to Pitch — Building Winning IT-Based Startup Ideas” information session on 25 July 2026 as part of the preparation for the ITM Summit 2026 Startup Idea Competition.

The session was conducted by Abdullah Raian, Lecturer, Department of ITM, DIU, who shared valuable insights on identifying impactful problems, developing IT-based startup ideas, and transforming those ideas into compelling pitches.

The session provided participants with practical guidance and inspiration to refine their concepts and prepare for the upcoming competition.

The Department of Information Technology & Management (ITM), Daffodil International University, successfully organized an AI Video Making Workshop on 22 July 2026, preparing participants with practical skills and creative techniques for AI-powered video creation.

The session was conducted by Irfat Nur Aboni and Abdullah Al Mubin, focusing on essential tools, workflows, and techniques for creating engaging AI-generated videos.

The workshop served as a valuable preparation session for the AI Video Making Competition at ITM Summit 2026, helping participants explore the creative possibilities of AI in video production.

The Department of Information Technology & Management (ITM), DIU, recently organized an industry visit to Brain Station 23, a leading software development company. This visit provided students with a valuable opportunity to gain firsthand insights into the modern software industry.

The informative sessions covered a wide array of critical topics, including current industry trends, the evolving job market, and strategies for adapting to an AI-driven workplace. Furthermore, students gained practical knowledge regarding backend development fundamentals, standard software development practices, mobile application development, the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC), and the growing impact of AI in product development.

Industry visits like these are instrumental in helping ITM students connect academic knowledge with real-world practices. They allow our students to better understand industry expectations and thoroughly prepare themselves for future careers in technology and management.

The Department of Information Technology & Management, DIU, successfully organized the "Build With AI Hack Days @ DIU" workshop in collaboration with Machine Learning Bangladesh.

Powered by Google for Developers, Gemini, .xyz, and MLH, this event allowed participants to gain hands-on experience with cutting-edge technologies, including the Gemini API, Google Cloud, Vertex AI, and Google AI Studio. The session provided an excellent opportunity for students to explore the future of AI-driven innovation and its practical, real-world applications.

Department of Information Technology & Management (ITM) hosted an engaging, hands-on workshop titled “UI Design with Figma: From Idea to Design with Innovation and Research.” The session brought together students and design enthusiasts from across the department to bridge the gap between creative imagination and functional digital design.

Instead of just looking at design theory, we took a highly interactive approach. Participants were guided through the practical steps of modern UI design, learning how to take raw ideas and transform them into user-centered interfaces using Figma. A major focus of the workshop was looking beyond the canvas—we explored why research-driven design and industry-standard workflows are so critical to building successful digital products today.

We were incredibly fortunate to have Naimur Rahman, Lead Product Designer at Pimjo, as our instructor for the day. His expert guidance, hands-on demonstrations, and real-world industry insights gave everyone a clear perspective on how top-tier products are actually designed and refined in the professional world.

It was a fantastic opportunity for our community to gather and gain a comprehensive understanding of the ISTQB pathway. Congratulations to Bushra Tara Noor, student of the Department of Information Technology & Management (ITM), DIU, on successfully completing her semester exchange program at Eikei University of Hiroshima, Japan 🇯🇵

During her study in Japan, she gained valuable academic exposure through courses in Data Analysis, ICT, Economics, Design Systems, and Project Management, while also experiencing Japan’s unique project-based learning culture.

Beyond academics, she embraced cultural exchange, built international friendships, and explored the rich history and traditions of Hiroshima. This life-changing journey strengthened her independence, adaptability, and global outlook.

Moin Ahmed Nahin, student of the Department of Information Technology & Management (ITM), DIU, is currently participating in the fully-funded Erasmus+ ICM Semester Exchange Scholarship at Varna University of Management, Bulgaria.

Through this international mobility program, he is completing academic credits in his respective program while actively engaging in academic, cultural, and international networking activities. This global learning experience reflects ITM’s commitment to developing internationally competent graduates and strengthening DIU’s global presence.

His participation in the Erasmus+ exchange program provides valuable opportunities to experience European academic culture and cultural diversity, contributing to both academic and personal growth.

Md. Shamim Shahnewaz, Project Manager, Software Development at SEPBO Bangladesh, conducted a special expert session titled “Smart Attendance, Smarter Future: Migrating from Legacy Systems to AI-Driven Solutions”, organized by the Department of Information Technology & Management, DIU.

The session provided valuable insights into modern attendance management systems, highlighting the transition from traditional legacy approaches to AI-driven smart solutions. We are thrilled to announce that Dr. Zouhair Elamrani Abou Elassad has been appointed as a Visiting Professor in the Department of Information Technology & Management at Daffodil International University. 🏆✨

With a distinguished background in computer science and a Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Intelligent Transportation Systems, Dr. Elamrani brings a wealth of expertise to his new role. 🚀 His outstanding contributions as a university professor at the National School of Applied Sciences, Cadi Ayyad University, Morocco, are a testament to his dedication to the field.

As a project manager overseeing various IT projects, with a focus on Artificial Intelligence applications, Dr. Elamrani has not only pioneered independent research projects but has also fostered strong collaborations with both public and industry sectors. 🌐 His research interests span a wide spectrum, including Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, Intelligent Environments, IoT, and Data Science.
