An engaging and insightful session on "Powering the Future: Renewable Energy Technologies Transforming Power Generation" was conducted by Md. Abu Bakar Siddiq, Senior Consultant at EQMS Consulting Limited, providing participants with a comprehensive understanding of how renewable energy technologies are reshaping the modern power sector.
 
The session explored the fundamentals of solar photovoltaic (PV) systems and their diverse applications, including rooftop solar, utility-scale solar plants, floating solar, agrivoltaics, and solar irrigation systems. Participants also learned key concepts of renewable energy system design, such as energy yield estimation, peak sun hours, system losses, and annual energy production, which are essential for developing efficient solar power systems.
 
In addition, the session highlighted the significance of net metering, Battery Energy Storage Systems (BESS), renewable energy business models, and carbon credit mechanisms, offering valuable insights into both the technical and economic aspects of sustainable energy. Participants were also introduced to industry-standard software tools used for renewable energy system analysis and design.
 
The session enriched participants' understanding of sustainable power generation technologies and their practical implementation, inspiring them to contribute to the advancement of a cleaner and more sustainable energy future.

EEE Department, DIU and DCL HiTech Ltd. Visit Ulkasemi to Explore Semiconductor Collaboratio

A delegation from the Department of EEE, DIU and DCL HiTech Ltd. visited Ulkasemi, a leading semiconductor design company, to observe their ongoing activities and explore potential areas of collaboration for the future development of the semiconductor industry in Bangladesh. 

Both parties discussed possible joint initiatives in training, student engagement, and capacity building to support the growth of a sustainable semiconductor ecosystem in the country. 

The visiting team was led by Dr. Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Daffodil Family, along with Aqib Khan, Son of Mr. Sabur Khan;  Dr. Mohammad Nuruzzaman, Group CEO, Daffodil Group; Mr. Md. This visit reflects a shared commitment to advancing semiconductor education, research, and industry collaboration in Bangladesh.

Strengthening Industry-Academia Collaboration: EEE Department Hosts IAP Meeting and Project Showcase

The Department of Electrical and Electronic Engineering (EEE), Daffodil International University successfully organized the Industry Advisory Panel (IAP) Meeting on 09 May 2026 at the Conference Room, Knowledge Tower, Daffodil Smart City.

The meeting was followed by a Project & Poster Show, where graduating students presented their Capstone Projects before the IAP members and jury panel.

The session was presided over by the respected Head of the Department of EEE, with the presence of all faculty members, including honorable Professors of the department. The meeting focused on strengthening industry-academia collaboration, reviewing Final Year Design (Capstone) Projects, discussing industry-relevant innovations, and exploring opportunities for producing industry-ready graduates.
